Career Services

Practical support to help you prepare for and pursue roles in cybersecurity, GRC, and AI governance. We help you get job-ready — we do not guarantee a job.

Fourth Tech is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit workforce development organization advancing cybersecurity, GRC, digital trust, and AI governance education. Our career services exist to help you translate career-focused, portfolio-based training into a confident, well-prepared job search. Everything below is support and preparation — the outcome depends on the market, the role, and the work you put in.

Resume support

Turn your training into a credible resume

We help you frame the hands-on work you complete in our programs — labs, projects, and your Certificate of Completion — into clear, recruiter-ready resume language. The focus is on showing the skills you actually practiced, not padding the page.

  • Translate course projects and labs into measurable, results-oriented bullet points.
  • Align your resume to specific job descriptions and the language employers screen for.
  • Format for applicant tracking systems (ATS) so your experience is read, not filtered out.

LinkedIn optimization

Show up where recruiters look

A strong LinkedIn profile is often the first impression a recruiter forms. We help you build a profile that clearly communicates your focus area and the work you can do.

  • Headline, About section, and keywords aligned to your target roles.
  • Featuring projects and credentials so your experience is visible at a glance.
  • Guidance on connecting with the right people and engaging without spamming.

Interview preparation

Walk in ready to talk about your work

We help you prepare for the conversations that decide hiring — behavioral, technical, and scenario-based — so you can speak clearly about what you did and why it matters.

  • Common cybersecurity, GRC, and AI governance interview questions and how to approach them.
  • Practice articulating your portfolio projects using a clear, structured approach.
  • Tips on questions to ask, follow-up etiquette, and handling tough or unfamiliar prompts.

Career coaching

Guidance on direction and next steps

Career-focused coaching helps you choose a realistic target, set a plan, and stay accountable. Whether you are switching fields or moving up, we help you map a path that fits where you are now.

  • Clarify which roles match your background, interests, and chosen career path.
  • Build a weekly job-search plan with concrete, manageable steps.
  • Work through obstacles, confidence, and momentum during your search.

Portfolio development

Build artifacts that prove you can do the work

Our training is portfolio-based, so you finish with real artifacts to show employers — not just a list of topics you covered. These are the deliverables hiring managers recognize from the job itself.

  • System Security Plans (SSPs) that document controls and implementation.
  • Risk registers that capture, score, and track risk decisions.
  • Plans of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms) that show how you remediate findings.
  • Guidance on packaging these into a clean, shareable portfolio.

Employer networking

Build the relationships that open doors

Many roles are filled through connections, not job boards. We help you network with intention so you can learn about teams, hiring needs, and the realities of the work.

  • Guidance on informational interviews and respectful outreach.
  • How to engage with professional communities and events in your field.
  • Approaches for staying connected and following up over time.

Job search support

Run an organized, sustainable search

The job search is its own skill. We help you stay organized, focus your energy where it counts, and keep going through the ups and downs of applying.

  • Where to find relevant openings and how to prioritize them.
  • Tracking applications, follow-ups, and outcomes without burning out.
  • Tailoring applications efficiently so each one lands well.

No job guarantee

Fourth Tech provides preparation and support to help you pursue a career — we do not guarantee employment, placement, or any specific salary outcome. We are a nonprofit workforce training organization, not a staffing agency or an accredited college, and our credential is a Certificate of Completion, not a degree. Your results depend on the labor market, the roles you pursue, and the effort you invest. Outcomes data will be published as cohorts complete — we do not publish unverified numbers.
