Code of Professional Conduct

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Fourth Tech trains people for positions of trust in governance, risk, compliance, and security. Learners and holders of a Fourth Tech credential are expected to uphold the standards below.

Integrity

Act honestly and ethically. Do not misrepresent your credentials, experience, or the scope of a Fourth Tech certificate (which recognizes completion of our training and is not an accredited degree or a third-party certification body's credential).

Lawful and authorized use of skills

The security techniques taught here — including offensive-security and digital-forensics topics — are for lawful, authorized, defensive, and educational purposes only. Using them against systems you are not authorized to test is prohibited and may be illegal.

Respect and professionalism

Treat instructors, staff, and fellow learners with respect. Harassment, discrimination, and abusive conduct in any Fourth Tech space (including community channels and live sessions) are not tolerated.

Confidentiality

Protect any sensitive information you encounter through coursework, labs, or peers. The labs are simulated, but the habits are real — handle information as you would on the job.

Enforcement

Conduct that violates this Code may result in removal from a program without refund and revocation of credentials. Report concerns through our Contact page.
